Why these metrics?
WhereWear aims to create a world where clothing is reused and recycled, cutting down on overconsumption and waste while building supportive communities that empower one another. To track progress, WhereWear uses metrics that directly reflect its mission. These measures focus on reducing waste, supporting shelters, and empowering communities, ensuring WhereWear’s efforts lead to meaningful, lasting impact.

Funds raised: $12,500+
Through generous community donations and grants, WhereWear has raised over $12,500 since its launch. These funds go directly into our mission—from creating and maintaining our website to purchasing critical items requested by shelters and planning for WhereWear’s future. Every dollar strengthens our ability to provide essential resources, reduce waste, and empower communities, ensuring a lasting impact on those we serve.
Items donated: 17,800+
WhereWear has donated over 17,800 items, focusing on high-quality, critically requested essentials like undergarments, winter coats, professional attire, baby clothing, and more. Through our donation drives, we ensure that every item reaches those who need it most, finding a meaningful purpose rather than going to waste.

Shelters connected: 100+
We define “connected shelters” as those that have received donations either directly from us or through the Cycle system. So far, our efforts have supported over 100 shelters.
Events hosted: 25+
We’ve hosted events throughout our local community to donate and raise awareness about clothing recycling, honoring the people and places that inspired WhereWear’s creation. These events include donation drives, tabling activities, and “packaging parties,” bringing the community together to support our mission.

Locations mapped: 300+
Locations mapped include shelters and centers available for users to donate to through our platform. While this network is constantly growing, we currently have information on over 300 shelters across Western America. WhereWear is excited to expand this map nationwide in the future, ensuring even more shelters can benefit from our system.
